Check out the info below to learn more about the far reaching benefits of sleep from physical to mental and emotional health.

Did you know this about sleep…
-It improves memory and learning: From academic/intellectual to physical performance, your body and your mind have a tough time integrating new skills with less than the right amount and quality of sleep you need.
-Too much or too little sleep is associated with shorter lifespans: In a 2010 study of women ages 50 to 79, more deaths occurred in women who got less than five hours or more than six and a half hours of sleep per night.
-Sleep reduces inflammation, think heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, cancer, diabetes, premature aging, arthritis: A 2010 study found that C-reactive protein, which is associated with heart attack risk, was higher in people who got six or fewer hours of sleep a night.
-Sleep increases creativity: Harvard University says that people seem to strengthen the emotional components of a memory during sleep, which may help you become more creative.
-Become Superhuman! Sleep increases athletic performance: A Stanford University study found that college football players who tried to sleep at least 10 hours a night for seven to eight weeks improved their average sprint time and had less daytime fatigue and more stamina.
-Chronic sleep deprivation makes getting good grades and doing your best academically challenging.
-Sleep deprivation in kids leads to hyperactivity, and ADHD like symptoms.
-Sleep and metabolism are controlled by the same sectors of the brain: We need sleep to optimize losing fat over muscle during fitness and diet regimes and adequate sleep in general helps you to feel less hungry and more likely to stay on track with healthy eating.
-Lower stress: Sleep lowers our stress levels as much as it does our cholesterol levels. Inadequate sleep keeps our nervous systems wired in high alert stress mode, which can burn us out.
-Sleeplessness affects your reaction time (think car accidents), and decision making capabilities – which we know relates to gallbladder health from a chinese medicine perspective
-Mental health: Emotional stability and good sleep go hand in hand. Depression and anxiety and their symptoms all improve with sleep.

In our go go go worlds, it’s easy to see that juggling work, family, health, etc often leads to a demanding schedule. More pressure, more stress means more anxiety. Combine that with seemingly less time to take care of ourselves and you’ve got a recipe for burnout. Exhaustion and fatigue give rise to all those sabotages you use, preventing optimal health.

Ready to hit your “pause” button and find a different way? Commit to putting yourself and your health first so you an both play the game of life with greater ease as well as perhaps take stock and change how it us you’re ‘doing’ life. Come stabilize your sleep and all that it regulates, which is everything in your entire body and mind.

If you have sleep disorders I strongly recommend having individual guidance with a medical professional as well.

Come explore what drives you, what you’re getting from it, how it’s been serving you, how it hasn’t and step into another way to experience your life.

There’s always another way.

We’ll be exploring a number of principles including vulnerability, strength, power, humility, honesty, authenticity, compassion, relationships (with self and others), intimacy, and sensuality.

The nature of group work allows, from a quantum physics understanding of increasing observation, for exceptional effectiveness.

“Every session it feels like you’re treating just me, are you sure these sessions aren’t just for me?” is common feedback received when working with group BodyTalk sessions, pre-recorded or live.
